Habits & Coping Mechanisms
When internal pressure begins to shape behaviour
You may be capable, responsible, and used to managing a lot.
But under sustained pressure, something begins to shift in how you show up.
You might notice:
• emotional eating or “wine o’clock” becoming a way to take the edge off the day
• procrastinating or struggling to focus even on things you care about
• difficulty speaking up, presenting, or expressing ideas with confidence
• impostor feelings appearing in situations even where you know you are capable
• hesitation or self-doubt slowing decisions that once felt straightforward
• performing well externally, but feeling like it takes far more effort than it should

For many people this isn’t a motivation or willpower problem.
When internal pressure patterns are active, the system narrows. Energy goes toward managing stress and maintaining control rather than clarity, confidence, and intentional choice.
In this state it’s common for behaviour to drift away from the values and standards that normally guide you... whether that’s how you take care of your body, how you manage habits, or how confidently you show up in important moments.
Outdated subconscious beliefs, nervous system patterns, and unprocessed emotions can quietly shape behaviour even when you consciously know what you want to do.
The work I do focuses on resolving the underlying patterns driving these responses, rather than trying to override them through more effort or discipline.
People often find their thinking becomes clearer, energy and focus return, and confidence grows. Habits that once felt difficult to control begin to shift naturally, and they’re able to show up in ways that feel aligned with their values... speaking up, making decisions, and living with far greater ease and self-trust.
